I don't think they should be interchangeable anywhere and that a sense of preparation is needed before inserting gems into items. Maybe you would lose the gem when replacing it or something in that sense. This would make the gems more valuable and more worth grinding them out, since you would need multiple if you want to keep changing them.Īnd the part about crafting end-game gear is very intriguing to me too, just like wow classic had it with the legendary drops and eventually you have enough to make it. But also that non legendary gear can be end-game too. Just like gear drops from monsters are RNG, I feel like there should be some aspect of RNG on crafting gear as well.īUT! Crafting gear should not be too easy that it is the go to way to get the best gear. This way just getting enough mats to make 1 item doesn't guarantee that it is the best version of that item and that you'd need to make multiple and hope that RNG is in your favor to get that good piece.
